The 2025–2026 winter transfer window officially opens this Thursday, January 1. Speculation is already intensifying across Europe, but now it is time for clubs to take action, as they must navigate this crucial period with precision and foresight.
The schedule is tight: French clubs will have until February 2 at 8:00 p.m. to finalize their business, as is the case in most major European leagues. It is a short window where every decision counts and even the smallest administrative error can prove costly.
Three Signings Allowed
Club executives must therefore have their files prepared in advance. Any transfer submitted after the deadline is automatically rejected, with no possibility of appeal.
Another important rule to consider is that new signings will not be eligible to play in the final two matchdays of the Champions League league phase. However, each club will be allowed to register up to three new players for the remainder of the European competition, a strategic detail that could weigh heavily in the weeks ahead.
