Maghnes Akliouche’s future appears to be taking shape away from Monaco. Just days before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with France, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder confirmed that a transfer is being considered during this summer transfer window.
It now seems certain that Akliouche’s story with Monaco is coming to an end. Asked about his future, the French international did not rule out a departure. On the contrary, he openly acknowledged that he could leave the Principality this summer.
PSG and Liverpool Monitoring the Situation
“Will the next step be a transfer this summer? Yes, but honestly, I’m fully focused on the World Cup. Anything can happen, including during the tournament. It’s a major showcase, but my priority remains the objectives of the national team,” the Monaco star explained.
According to reports from Le Journal du Dimanche, AS Monaco is now willing to let the player leave. This marks a significant shift after the contract extension he signed last summer, which runs until 2028 and had previously discouraged several interested clubs.
Paris Saint-Germain remains one of the clubs closely monitoring Akliouche. The European champions have long admired his versatility, technical ability, and creativity in attacking positions.
However, PSG faces competition from Liverpool, which is also tracking the player and could move quickly to secure his signature. Monaco is expected to demand a substantial fee, with Akliouche’s market value recently estimated between €70 million and €80 million. Unless there is a dramatic twist, one of the summer’s biggest transfer sagas is only just beginning.
