The Rashford saga is heating up in Catalonia. On loan from Manchester United, the English forward is causing a complete split within Barça.
Marcus Rashford appeals to Barça… but not to everyone. The €30 million purchase option looks tempting, but nothing is settled: internally, some feel Rashford isn’t committed enough to Flick’s pressing demands, while others point to a salary they consider outrageous.
Result: the club hesitates, wavers, doubts. And if Barça backs out, three names are already lined up to replace the Englishman: Antonio Nusa, Malick Fofana, and Said El Mala.
While Barcelona crunches the numbers, Paris strikes. PSG is preparing a lightning offensive to snatch Rashford as early as next summer. According to El Nacional, Paris is ready to put €30 million + €20 million in bonuses on the table — an offer that would make Manchester United buckle in minutes. The Red Devils, for their part, are convinced the Rashford adventure is coming to an end.
But a huge wrench blocks PSG’s plan: Barcelona holds a preferential clause allowing them to keep Rashford for… just €30 million. A wideopen door for Barça, completely locked for PSG.
PSG wants to hit hard
And what about the player? Rashford wants to stay in Catalonia. Flick loves him, the locker room approves of him, and he feels reborn. But he’ll have to lower his salary — and that’s far from guaranteed at a club in permanent crisis.
Paris, meanwhile, is opening the checkbook. PSG can offer a XXL salary that Barça, on financial life support, simply cannot match. Laporta, however, is standing firm: Rashford is a rare opportunity, a deal he refuses to let slip away in favor of Paris.
The case is turning into an explosive duel between Barcelona and Paris. And the battle is only just beginning.
