Just days after the passing of Éric Roy, who lost his battle with cancer, Brest have decided to appoint Julien Lachuer as the new head coach of the first team, according to AFP, confirming earlier reports from Ouest-France.

Stade Brestois have moved swiftly during a difficult period. At 49, Julien Lachuer knows the club inside out. Having served as Éric Roy’s assistant for the past three and a half years, he played a key role in the sporting project that helped Brest reach new heights in recent seasons.

Julien Lachuer Takes Charge of Brest

A former Brest goalkeeper between 2005 and 2010, when the club was competing in Ligue 2, Lachuer has an in-depth understanding of the institution. His extensive experience within the club convinced the board that he was the ideal candidate to succeed Éric Roy.
