Olympique de Marseille continues its aggressive summer recruitment with the signing of Facundo Medina from Lens.
The 26-year-old Argentine defender arrives on loan with a purchase option that is expected to become mandatory.
Deal worth €22 million, bonuses included
The total value of the deal is €22 million including bonuses. Medina becomes Marseille’s third summer signing, following CJ Egan-Riley and Angel Gomes.
Strong in duels, confident on the ball, and versatile enough to play centrally, on the left, or even in midfield, Medina fits perfectly into Roberto De Zerbi’s system.
His ability to break lines and build from the back makes him a key asset for OM’s ambitions in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.
