Illia Zabarnyi is officially a PSG player. Arriving in Paris on Sunday evening, the 21-year-old Ukrainian centre-back passed his medical and signed his contract. The former Bournemouth defender will strengthen the Parisians’ backline ahead of the UEFA Super Cup clash with Tottenham.
The transfer fee stands at €60 million, plus €3 million paid to Dynamo Kyiv via the solidarity mechanism. Bournemouth could also receive up to €3 million in bonuses: €1.5 million if PSG win Ligue 1 and another €1.5 million if they lift the Champions League trophy.
In total, the deal could reach €64.5 million, although Bournemouth will net only around €50 million, with Dynamo Kyiv set to pocket 25% of the profit. Zabarnyi will earn €4.5 million net per year (about €400,000 a month), similar to fellow €60 million signing João Neves.
It remains to be seen whether Luis Enrique will throw him straight into the squad to face Spurs.
