Brighton have slapped a €120 million price tag on Carlos Baleba, with both Manchester clubs in the hunt for the 21-year-old Cameroonian midfielder. Pep Guardiola has long admired the player, but according to ESPN, Manchester United have yet to make contact — and a move could be complicated following their €85m deal for Benjamin Sesko.
A key figure under Fabian Hürzeler last season with 34 Premier League appearances, 3 goals and 1 assist, Baleba is open to staying this summer, with a transfer more likely in 2026.
Lille to cash in
Lille stand to cash in big too, earning 20% of any fee above the €30m Brighton paid for him in 2023.
If sold, Baleba would join the long list of Brighton stars who’ve commanded huge fees in the Premier League, following the likes of Moisés Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, Alexis Mac Allister and Yves Bissouma.
