It’s official: Hugo Ekitike is now a Liverpool player. The 23-year-old French striker has signed a six-year deal with the Reds in a transfer worth €95 million, bonuses included. A massive deal for Eintracht Frankfurt… and a nice payday for PSG.
A top 5 all-time fee for a French player
After reviving his career in Germany following a tough spell in Paris, Ekitike now takes a huge leap forward. The transfer places him as the fifth-most expensive French player in history—only behind Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba. The pressure at Anfield will be real.
PSG cash in €15M
Paris Saint-Germain aren’t left out. Thanks to a 20% sell-on clause negotiated during his move to Frankfurt (€16.5M at the time), PSG will receive approximately €15 million from this blockbuster transfer.
With Ekitike on board, Liverpool’s summer spending now exceeds €300 million, having already secured Wirtz (€125M), Frimpong (€40M), and Kerkez (€47M). The Reds are clearly aiming high in their Premier League ambitions.
Now it’s up to Ekitike to show he’s ready for this next level.
