The Ayyoub Bouaddi case could become one of the biggest stories of this summer transfer window. Manchester City have reportedly decided to step up their efforts to sign the young Lille midfielder and are now among the favorites to secure his signature.
According to David Ornstein, the English club wants to move quickly in negotiations. Paris Saint-Germain, often linked with the player in recent months, are not involved in the race at this stage.
Manchester City push for immediate integration of Bouaddi
Several clubs are considering signing Bouaddi before loaning him back to Lille for another season, allowing the French midfielder to continue his development in Ligue 1. However, Manchester City have a very different plan.
The club’s management reportedly wants to integrate the player directly into Pep Guardiola’s squad, without sending him back on loan. This approach highlights the strong belief in Bouaddi’s talent, as he is already regarded as one of the most promising players of his generation thanks to his maturity, technical ability, and composure under pressure.
Lille could demand close to €100 million to sell their rising star, a fee designed to deter suitors and reflect his long-term contract. Despite the high price, Manchester City have the financial power to complete such a deal, while other Premier League clubs remain attentive. PSG, however, are expected to stay out of the battle, satisfied with their current midfield options following contract extensions for Fabian Ruiz and Senny Mayulu.
