Matteo Guendouzi is close to leaving Lazio to join Fenerbahçe. Courted by the Turkish club during this winter transfer window, the French midfielder should be packing his bags in the coming days. According to Calciomercato journalist Daniele Longo, an agreement has been reached between the two clubs for a transfer estimated at €27 million, bonuses included.
Gianluca Di Marzio also confirms this trend and specifies that both teams have agreed to finalize the deal after Lazio’s next two Serie A matches, against Fiorentina on Wednesday and then Hellas Verona on Sunday. Unless there is a last-minute twist, Guendouzi is therefore living his final hours in the Roman shirt.
A Move to Reignite His Career Ahead of the World Cup
At 26, the French international, who has made 15 league appearances and scored 2 goals this season, is preparing to take on a new challenge in a particular context.
With the 2026 World Cup approaching, this move to Turkey marks an important turning point in his career, with the aim of remaining competitive and visible to the national team coach. The deal is on track and could be wrapped up quickly.
