Naples has made a strong move for Kevin De Bruyne, offering the Belgian maestro a three-year contract worth a total of €17 million, excluding performance-based bonuses.
The Serie A champions have proposed a salary structure where De Bruyne would earn €6 million annually for the first two years, then €5 million in the final year. This offer is significantly lower than the €25 million per year he earned at Manchester City, but it remains an attractive deal for the 33-year-old midfielder.
The Dilemma Between Serie A and MLS
Naples is not alone in its pursuit. Chicago Fire from Major League Soccer (MLS) has also made a proposal. However, the ambitious and competitive project in Naples appears to appeal more to De Bruyne. With Manchester City not yet offering a contract renewal, the Belgian’s decision is expected soon, as Naples is eager to advance its recruitment.
De Laurentiis Remains Optimistic, But No Agreement Yet
Despite the generous offer from Naples, the club’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has stated that no agreement has been reached yet. “Our intention is to sign him, but both parties need to agree,” he said. As De Bruyne continues to weigh his future, Serie A may become his next destination.
