Antoine Griezmann is enjoying his first days in the United States like a true rockstar. Just days after joining Orlando City, the French forward was honoured in the heart of Times Square in New York, where giant screens displayed his image in the colours of his new club.
“Grizou” may have signed in Florida, but his official unveiling took place in New York. The spectacular presentation underlined the importance of his arrival in MLS, just days before the World Cup final.
A Superstar Welcome in New York
The Florida club spared no expense in welcoming its new headline star. Orlando City transformed one of the world’s most famous locations into a giant showcase for its new number seven, launching an eye-catching campaign across Manhattan’s iconic screens. It was a clear statement that Griezmann is now the new face of the franchise.
The publicity stunt came as the 2018 World Cup winner continued to settle into his new surroundings. After completing his medical and meeting his new teammates, Griezmann is beginning his integration in the United States, where Orlando City hope to use his vast experience and international profile to reach a new level.
