Paris Saint-Germain will not make a move for Michael Olise this summer. Despite the club’s long-standing admiration for the French international, the Parisian hierarchy has no intention of pursuing a transfer they consider too complicated and far too expensive.
According to L’Équipe, PSG internally views the Olise deal as a potential nightmare in the transfer market. Rather than trying to sign the Bayern Munich winger, the club would prefer to identify a younger player with a similar profile and develop him instead.
PSG Focus on Long-Term Recruitment Strategy
“It’s better to look for the next Olise than Olise himself,” is reportedly the mindset within the club. PSG believes Bayern Munich has no intention of selling one of its key players this summer unless an extraordinary offer—estimated at around €200 million—is submitted.
Such a fee no longer fits PSG’s new recruitment policy. After years of blockbuster spending, the French champions are determined to maintain a more sustainable transfer strategy. Olise’s expected salary, which could exceed €20 million per season, is also viewed as incompatible with the club’s current financial structure and dressing-room balance. As a result, PSG will continue searching for players capable of offering similar qualities without breaking their wage structure or spending a record transfer fee.
