Real Madrid tested the waters. With Xabi Alonso under pressure, several names were considered… and Jürgen Klopp quickly came up in discussions. But the door is closed. In an interview with Bild, RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff cooled Madrid’s hopes: there is no release clause in Klopp’s contract.
Klopp Is Not for Sale
“He helped the team take a step forward and found an exceptional balance between supporting the squad on the pitch and allowing the club room to operate. Jürgen Klopp managed to make his mark by joining us on a free transfer,” he said.
Even more, Leipzig are relaxed. Klopp is described as fully committed, perfectly integrated into the Red Bull project, and already decisive in the club’s progress. Having arrived on a free transfer, the German has found his balance… and has no intention of leaving.
“He feels at home with us and has already learned a great deal. His contract includes no release clause and his commitment to us is unquestionable,” the executive added. Message sent to Real Madrid: Klopp is not for sale. Paris FC will need him this winter as the club pushes toward Ligue 2.
