Former German defender Sebastian Hertner died on Saturday at the age of 34 in Montenegro. While on vacation at the Savin Kuk ski resort in the north of the country, the former TSV 1860 Munich player was involved in a serious chairlift accident.

According to the first elements of the investigation, a technical failure is believed to have caused a collision between two gondolas. Thrown from the lift, Sebastian Hertner reportedly suffered a fatal fall of nearly 70 meters.
