Paris FC Refuse to Overpay For Average Players Like PSG

Paris FC is looking to strengthen in January, but Antoine Arnault warns: there is no question of paying extravagant amounts. The executive directly targets ASSE, deemed too greedy for Lucas Stassin last summer.

Ready to act during the winter transfer window, Paris FC is moving with caution. Despite solid financial resources, Antoine Arnault refuses to give in to bidding wars. Asked on RMC about Lucas Stassin, the striker for whom ASSE demanded €40 million, the executive was categorical: “I don’t think so for Lucas Stassin, that’s not going to happen. The club’s demands are unfortunately too high.”

Arnault Denounces an Overinflated Transfer Market

Arnault explains that Paris FC does not want to “distort the market” from the outset, believing such a move would send “a very bad message” and expose the club to being “taken for a ride for the rest of the time.”

Paris FC says no to “absurd prices.” The executive asserts that PFC has “not made any mistakes” so far and intends to stay on this path. Faced with “absurd prices,” he says the club does not hesitate to “calmly hang up and move on.” This strategy has recently been adopted by PSG, after years of spending sprees and average players bought at exorbitant prices.

Arnault finally recalls that the winter transfer window can offer “great opportunities, especially through loans,” showing that Paris intends to strengthen its squad without falling into excess.
