Under pressure ahead of facing Manchester City, Xabi Alonso received a rather unusual message from Pep Guardiola. Asked about the support he might offer the Real Madrid coach, Guardiola dropped a line that instantly went viral.

As Xabi Alonso potentially plays for his future on the Real Madrid bench against Manchester City, Pep Guardiola surprised everyone in his press conference. Questioned about a possible message of support, the City manager replied: “He has to pee on his own. I’m not going to pee for him!” Behind the joke, Guardiola acknowledged the immense pressure weighing on the Spaniard: “If you don’t win the big games, everything becomes difficult… But Xabi knows how it works.”
