Vitinha’s name keeps resurfacing in Real Madrid’s presidential campaign. As Florentino Pérez reportedly looks for a headline-grabbing signing to convince the club’s members, the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is regularly mentioned as one of the Spanish giant’s dream targets.
However, many observers in Portugal struggle to believe such a move will happen. According to Antena 1 journalist Luis Cristovao, the expected arrival of José Mourinho on the Madrid bench would not necessarily be enough to attract PSG’s midfield playmaker.
Vitinha’s Loyalty to Luis Enrique
“What Vitinha has with Luis Enrique in Paris, he would not find in Madrid if Mourinho were the coach,” explained the Portuguese journalist. “To become the best player in the world, he also needs a manager who respects and values the way he plays.”
This view echoes Vitinha’s own comments. Asked in March about rumors linking him to Real Madrid, the Portuguese international was very clear: “It would be crazy to leave. I feel very good here at PSG.”
Some voices in Spain still believe the transfer could happen. Pacojó Delgado, sports director of Cadena SER, argues that Vitinha could be Florentino Pérez’s biggest asset in the election campaign. His reasoning is simple: José Mourinho and Vitinha share the same agent, Jorge Mendes. Yet despite that connection and ongoing speculation, the midfielder remains under contract with PSG until 2029 and shows no sign of wanting to leave the French champions.
