Real Madrid’s new era under Xabi Alonso is already shaking up the locker room — and some big names could be on their way out.
According to Sport, Alonso is reshuffling the hierarchy inherited from Carlo Ancelotti. Several key players are losing their spots to rising talents more in tune with the Basque coach’s tactical vision.
Rodrygo, Ferland Mendy, Dani Ceballos, Endrick, and David Alaba are all in the danger zone. Rodrygo is no longer untouchable, with inconsistent form and a poor fit in Alonso’s system — and he could be sold to fund a midfield signing. Mendy, too limited offensively, is at risk, while Ceballos has been overtaken by the club’s new generation.
Loan move for Endrick?
Madrid won’t force anyone out, but exits will be facilitated for those who ask. Rodrygo, Mendy, and Ceballos are all under contract until 2027 or 2028 — but a strong offer could change everything.
As for Endrick, he remains “untouchable” on paper… but the emergence of Gonzalo might lead to a loan move to give the young Brazilian game time. Alaba, sidelined for most of the last two seasons due to injury, is also seeing his spot threatened by new arrivals like Asencio and Huijsen. His future at the club is far from certain.
