Xabi Alonso has made it crystal clear: after a humiliating 4-0 loss to PSG in the Club World Cup semi-final, big changes are coming to Real Madrid. And that could mean some major departures.

“This match and this tournament taught me a lot,” said Alonso, who just wrapped up his first campaign in charge. “I now have a clear picture of what we are and what needs to improve. I already know what the squad will look like next season with the players we’ll get back. 2025–26 will be different. We’re starting from scratch.”

Is Vinicius on his way out?

It’s not just talk. Alonso’s tone suggests a serious rebuild is in the works. While Rodrygo, largely unused during the tournament, is already tipped to leave, the Spanish press is now eyeing the bigger names: Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Jr.
