After several months of uncertainty, Benjamin Mendy has finally secured his next move. The 30-year-old French defender, who has been a free agent since leaving FC Lorient, has officially signed with FC Zürich until 2026, as confirmed by the Swiss club in an official statement.

“FC Zürich signs French World Cup winner Benjamin Mendy. The 30-year-old French defender joins the club immediately from FC Lorient and has signed a contract until 2026.”

A Fresh Start for Mendy

Having previously played in Ligue 1 with AS Monaco and Manchester City, Mendy returned to Lorient in 2023 in search of regular playing time. However, his performances were inconsistent, and his future remained uncertain. Now, he is set to reignite his career in Switzerland, where his experience and physicality could prove valuable.
