Vinicius Junior’s future at Real Madrid could be heading toward a dramatic twist. Long regarded as one of the club’s untouchable stars, the Brazilian forward is reportedly no longer considered indispensable to José Mourinho’s long-term project.
José Mourinho is said to be reshaping the Real Madrid squad. While Kylian Mbappé remains firmly off the market, the same may not apply to Vinicius. According to insider Pepe Alvarez, the Spanish giants are not actively trying to sell the Brazilian, but they would be willing to consider serious offers during the summer transfer window.
Contract Demands Could Change Everything
Real Madrid’s stance is reportedly linked to ongoing contract extension talks. Vinicius is said to be asking for an €80 million signing bonus to renew his deal. His representatives are also reportedly seeking control of up to 80% of his image rights, two demands the club is unwilling to meet despite his sporting and commercial value.
Mourinho reportedly does not view Vinicius as an irreplaceable figure in his rebuilding plans. Although the Portuguese coach is not pushing for the winger’s departure, he would not necessarily block a sale if an exceptional offer reached Florentino Pérez. Real Madrid have no intention of selling cheaply, but for the first time, the door appears slightly open. If contract negotiations ultimately collapse, Europe’s biggest clubs could have a genuine opportunity to test Madrid’s resolve before the transfer window closes.
