Olympique de Marseille have landed their first signing of the summer. Free after the expiration of his contract with Burnley, Conrad Jaden Egan-Riley, known as CJ Egan-Riley, officially signed with the Ligue 1 club on Saturday.
The 22-year-old English centre-back, currently on duty with England at the U21 Euros, completed his medical in Slovakia on Friday and is expected to sign a four-year deal.
A Manchester City academy product, Egan-Riley impressed during a strong season in the Championship, making 43 appearances for Burnley.
Known for his composure on the ball and intelligent reading of the game, his profile perfectly matches Roberto De Zerbi’s philosophy — a coach who demands technical defenders capable of building from the back. It’s a long-term investment for OM’s future.
