No more suspensions after 3 yellow cards in 10 matches. Starting from the 2025-2026 season, Ligue 1 will introduce a much simpler rule for disciplinary sanctions.
The LFP officially announced this Friday that players (and coaches) will now receive an automatic suspension after 5 yellow cards, regardless of the time period. This change brings Ligue 1 in line with the disciplinary standards of other major European leagues.
The goal: more clarity, better consistency—and a cleaner, more readable game for fans and players alike.
