Nuno Mendes could have worn white. Before he became one of PSG’s key weapons, the Portuguese left-back was very close to signing for Real Madrid.

Paris took the chance
That’s when Jorge Mendes stepped in. The agent redirected his protégé toward PSG, where Nuno Mendes exploded under Luis Enrique. Today, at just 23, he’s considered the best left-back in the world and recently extended his deal until 2029.
While Madrid stuck to their financial principles — no reckless signings, no long-term debt — they may now regret letting him slip. Meanwhile, PSG is reaping the rewards of their bold move.
