Despite a heavy 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in the final of the Club World Cup, Paris Saint-Germain didn’t leave the United States empty-handed.
On the pitch, PSG fell short — but financially, they came out winners. According to The Athletic, the French champions will collect nearly €92 million for their performance in the month-long tournament held across the USA.
A massive payout despite the loss
While FIFA had only disclosed a range for participation bonuses, new figures reveal a detailed breakdown of club earnings. PSG’s haul includes:
- Participation fee: €27 million
- Group stage wins: €3.42 million
- Round of 16 qualification: €6.41 million
- Quarterfinals: €11.23 million
- Semifinals: €17.97 million
- Runner-up bonus: €25.67 million
That brings PSG’s total earnings to an estimated €91.7 million — just behind Chelsea, who topped the competition with around €98 million in total revenue.
Not a bad payday for one month of football… even without the trophy.
