Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski have each been fined €5,000 by UEFA for breaching anti-doping regulations after the Champions League semi-final second leg in May, in which Inter Milan beat Barcelona 4-3 after extra time.
According to AS, the offences included failing to follow the anti-doping officer’s instructions (Article 21.8) and not presenting themselves immediately at the control station (Article 21.10a).
The sanctions didn’t stop with the players — Barça coach Hansi Flick has been handed a €20,000 fine and a one-match European suspension for breaching general principles of good conduct, notably in his behaviour towards the referee. His assistant Marcus received the same punishment for similar reasons.
