With Lucas Chevalier set to join Paris Saint-Germain for €55 million including bonuses, Gianluigi Donnarumma has fuelled speculation about his role at the club.

On Saturday, the 26-year-old Italian goalkeeper posted a photo on social media with his family in front of a cake reading “Number 1.”

It’s hard not to see it as a nod to his current status at PSG, especially with Chevalier tipped to become the new first-choice keeper. Coincidence or subtle message, the post quickly caught the attention of fans and sparked debate online.
