Xabi Alonso sees a new face in Kylian Mbappé. The Real Madrid boss believes his new No.10 has changed both in attitude and ambition.

After a disappointing debut season in Spain, Mbappé looks determined to turn the page. The French striker started the 2025-26 campaign in style on Tuesday night, scoring the winner in a 1-0 victory over Osasuna on the opening day of La Liga.

“A different Mbappé? I feel he wants more”

Alonso was quick to praise his star: “There are positives tonight, starting with the result. After just two weeks of preseason, against a team more prepared, we lacked freshness. But this win gives us stability. A different Mbappé? I feel he wants more, you can see it every day. Maybe it’s the No.10 shirt, I don’t know, but it’s clear.”
