Paul Pogba will have to wait again before making his first appearance with AS Monaco. Injured at the ankle during Thursday’s training, the 32-year-old midfielder is officially ruled out for the match against Paris FC this Saturday.

Sébastien Pocognoli confirmed the bad news at a press conference: the player’s ankle “twisted a bit” and the club is still awaiting confirmation of the severity of the injury. Pogba had completed the training session on Thursday, raising hopes that it was just a minor knock.

However, on Friday, he was unable to put weight on his foot properly, prompting the staff to let him rest.
The Monaco coach hopes it is only a minor sprain. The club will know more in the coming hours, depending on further examinations. It remains to be seen whether Pogba will be available for the next important match: the reception of Lens, scheduled for November 8.
