An unbelievable scene in La Liga: during the 2022–2023 season, FC Barcelona reportedly asked Robert Lewandowski to ease off in front of goal.

A goal machine in the Bundesliga, Lewandowski suddenly had to hit the brakes at Barça. Why? Because scoring just two more goals would have triggered a €2.5 million bonus owed to Bayern Munich as part of his transfer deal.

In the end, Lewandowski didn’t score in the final two league matches. Coincidence? Financial “management”? Direct pressure? Officially, nothing proves it was intentional… but the timing has raised plenty of eyebrows.
