News from Fabrizio Romano is once again shaking the Manchester United ecosystem: Ole Gunnar Solskjær is in advanced talks with the club to take over as interim head coach. Ruben Amorim has been sacked, and things are moving fast to replace him. According to the Italian journalist, discussions are positive and well underway with Solskjær.
Solskjær wants the job and is considered a serious internal candidate. There is no issue regarding the length of the contract, and the Norwegian is ready to say yes. The final decision now rests with Manchester United.
A familiar figure at Old Trafford
This possible return obviously carries strong symbolic weight. Solskjær knows the club inside out, having already held the role between 2018 and 2021, with mixed results but a strong relationship with the club and part of the fanbase. In a new period of sporting instability, United could therefore opt for a familiar, reassuring short-term solution.
Nothing has been signed yet, but the file is moving quickly. The club now has to decide: bet on a known, internal option to put out the fire, or choose another path to manage the transition. One thing is certain: Solskjær’s name is once again very seriously on the table at Old Trafford.
