Real Madrid is experiencing a rare moment of tension between its fans and the locker room. According to COPE, several players are deeply affected, feeling both sad and shocked by the intensity of the whistles heard at the Santiago Bernabéu. This backlash is considered excessive internally, to the point of leaving a mark.
The message circulating in the locker room is clear and straightforward: “If you only applaud us in glory, but disappear in defeat, you have never been one of us.” This heavy statement reflects a sense of fracture between the team and a portion of the stands.
In this already tense context, Florentino Pérez has also become a target. Some supporters have called for his departure, a stance that has infuriated Álvaro Arbeloa. In a press conference, the former Madrid defender did not hold back: “The people who whistle at Florentino and demand his resignation are people who do not love Real Madrid. Florentino Pérez is the most important man in the history of this club, alongside Santiago Bernabéu.”
Gap between fans and players widens
These statements illustrate the extent of the discomfort. Real Madrid, accustomed to the heights and extreme demands, finds itself in a delicate situation: managing sporting pressure, but also a relationship with its fans that seems to be dangerously strained.
In Madrid, more than ever, victory remains a refuge. But in the meantime, the emotional gap between the stands and the locker room is very real.
