Eliminated by Real Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16 (0-3, 1-2), Manchester City exits the competition earlier than expected. However, Pep Guardiola refuses to give in to doubt.
Pep Guardiola remains confident despite Manchester City’s elimination against Real Madrid in the Champions League. The Catalan manager focused on the positives, particularly his team’s strong start before Bernardo Silva’s red card and the penalty conceded shortly after. “I just wonder what would have happened if we had been 11 against 11… we did our best,” he said.
Guardiola Remains Optimistic About Manchester City’s Future
Despite the disappointment, Guardiola shows complete confidence in his squad and the club’s future: “We have an extraordinary team, a group of extraordinary players. The future is promising here.”
Already looking ahead, the City manager promises a return to the highest level next season: “Next season, we will be back.”
In the meantime, Manchester City will have a chance to bounce back quickly with an important fixture: the League Cup final against Arsenal this Sunday.
