Paris Saint-Germain’s qualification for the Champions League quarter-finals, secured convincingly against Chelsea (3-0), has been overshadowed by Bradley Barcola’s injury.

Injured during the second half and forced to leave the pitch before the final whistle, the Parisian winger is suffering from a “severe ligament sprain in the right ankle,” according to the club’s medical statement released this Wednesday. An injury that is expected to keep him sidelined for several weeks.

Major Blow Ahead of Key Fixtures

The former Lyon player could be out for up to a month. As a result, he is likely to miss the upcoming France national team gathering in the United States, where matches against Brazil (March 26) and Colombia (March 29) are scheduled. Didier Deschamps’ squad list will be announced this Thursday.

Most importantly, his availability for the Champions League quarter-finals now appears highly uncertain. PSG will face Liverpool in the next round, with the first leg scheduled for April 7 or 8 and the return leg on April 14 or 15.

This is a significant setback for Paris, especially as Barcola had been in outstanding form in recent weeks, scoring five goals in his last six appearances.
