Real Madrid are preparing sanctions after the training ground clash involving Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni. The Spanish club officially confirmed that disciplinary proceedings have been opened against both midfielders following their heated altercation at Valdebebas. The incident quickly became a major story across Spain.
While several media outlets reported a violent fight inside the dressing room, Valverde finally broke his silence on Friday to give his version of events. The Uruguayan international admitted that an incident did occur with his French teammate, but firmly denied any physical violence.
Valverde Responds to the Real Madrid Training Incident
“Yesterday, I had an incident with a teammate during a training exercise,” explained the Real Madrid player, pointing to “the fatigue of competition” and the “frustration” built up during a difficult season. According to him, another disagreement later took place during the day before he accidentally injured himself. “I accidentally hit a table, which caused a small cut on my forehead,” he clarified.
The Real Madrid captain especially wanted to make one thing clear: there was no fight with Tchouaméni. “At no point did my teammate hit me, and neither did I,” he insisted, while regretting the many rumors surrounding the story. “I understand that it’s easier to believe we fought each other, but that’s not what happened.”
Clearly affected by the situation, Valverde nevertheless admitted that tensions inside Real Madrid have finally exploded. “We wasted another year,” he said bitterly, before apologizing for what he described as an “absurd” argument. Despite the tensions, the Uruguayan insisted he would continue defending his teammate on the pitch: “If I have to defend him in a stadium, I’ll be the first to do it.” Real Madrid are now expected to announce the sanctions against both players in the coming days.
