Tensions have exploded inside the Real Madrid dressing room after Aurélien Tchouaméni and Federico Valverde were involved in a violent altercation during training on Thursday at the Valdebebas complex.
Things appear to be falling apart at Real Madrid, especially between Tchouaméni and Valverde. Already under pressure the previous day, the two midfielders reportedly came to blows inside the dressing room. The fight became so intense that the Uruguayan international had to be hospitalized to receive stitches.
Real Madrid Opens Disciplinary Proceedings
Following the seriousness of the incident, Real Madrid quickly released an official statement confirming disciplinary action against both players. “Real Madrid announces that, following the events that occurred this morning, the club has decided to open disciplinary proceedings against our players Fede Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni,” the Spanish club stated, with sanctions expected to be announced soon.
A few hours after the altercation, Real Madrid also provided an update on Federico Valverde’s condition. After medical examinations at the hospital, the midfielder was diagnosed with a head injury. The club confirmed that the Merengue captain will need between 10 and 14 days of rest, meaning he will miss this weekend’s Clasico against Barcelona.
