According to reports from ESdiario, José Mourinho could be on the verge of making a sensational return to the Real Madrid bench. The Portuguese manager reportedly held a meeting lasting nearly an hour with Florentino Pérez, alongside his agent Jorge Mendes, to discuss a possible arrival as early as June 30.

Could José Mourinho become Real Madrid’s savior once again? The Spanish club appears ready to bring back a familiar face, despite the fact that Mourinho did not always enjoy unanimous support during his previous experiences. However, the Portuguese coach did not immediately accept the proposal. According to the Spanish outlet, the current SL Benfica manager has set ten conditions considered completely non-negotiable before agreeing to take charge.

Mourinho Demands Full Control at Real Madrid

Among his main demands is a two-year contract running until 2028, along with total freedom regarding sporting decisions. Mourinho reportedly does not want any external pressure concerning his lineups and insists on having the authority to remove any player unwilling to follow his defensive instructions or meet his standards.

The Portuguese coach also wishes to arrive with his entire technical staff and is reportedly asking for the departure of fitness coach Antonio Pintus, whom he considers partly responsible for the many physical issues suffered by the Madrid squad in recent seasons.

According to ESdiario, the Special One also wants to introduce a second medical opinion protocol for players and has already identified seven squad members who should leave the club this summer. Another major request would be to deal exclusively with Florentino Pérez without intermediaries, while also ending Real Madrid’s long summer tours in the United States and Asia in order to focus on better physical preparation. Álvaro Arbeloa’s name has also reportedly been mentioned as a possible addition to Mourinho’s future staff, an idea the Portuguese manager has not rejected.
