Benjamin Pavard’s adventure at Olympique de Marseille already appears to be coming to an end. According to reports from Italy, the French defender has decided to leave Marseille in an attempt to return to Inter Milan, where he still has two years remaining on his contract.
A world champion in 2018, Benjamin Pavard left Inter during the final hours of last summer’s transfer window to join OM on a loan deal with an option to buy. But despite a solid season in Marseille colors, the Frenchman now wants to return to the Nerazzurri club to prove he can still play an important role there, according to Sky Sports Italia.
Pavard wants to win back Inter Milan
During his time with Inter, Pavard made 70 appearances, scored a goal against Bayern Munich and provided four assists. He also helped the Italian giants win the Serie A title during the 2023-2024 season.
This season in Marseille, the 30-year-old defender played 36 matches, scoring once and delivering three assists. But despite respectable numbers, his story with OM could soon come to an end. Inter, meanwhile, remains attentive to his situation as the summer transfer window rapidly approaches.
