A huge shock has hit the Olympique de Marseille bench. According to L’Équipe, Bruno Genesio is set to sign with the club for the next two seasons. The former Lyon, Rennes and Lille coach is preparing to take on one of the most intense challenges in French football.
Marseille has decided to change direction. After a period of uncertainty surrounding the managerial position, OM have reportedly reached an agreement with Bruno Genesio, whose experience convinced the club’s hierarchy.
Beye heading for the exit as OM reshuffles its bench
Before officially announcing Genesio’s arrival, OM must resolve one final issue: terminating Habib Beye’s contract. The Senegalese coach is therefore not expected to continue his adventure on the Marseille bench, even though he had hoped to. Beye only arrived at OM last February and was under contract until June 2027.
This decision marks a major turning point in OM’s sporting project. With Genesio, Marseille is betting on a coach well-versed in Ligue 1, capable of handling pressure and quickly putting a team back on track. He is expected to take charge when training resumes on July 6.
All that remains now is the official announcement. But barring any last-minute twist, Bruno Genesio is set to become the new Olympique de Marseille manager, signing a two-year deal.
