A powerful image for Les Bleus. After scoring twice and delivering a huge performance against Sweden (3-0) on Tuesday in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup, Kylian Mbappé once again carried the French national team in a major match.

The France captain produced an XXL display. At 27, now with 102 caps and 62 goals for France, the Real Madrid forward continues to write his legend in the blue shirt. Against the Swedes, he was decisive, dangerous and fully involved in France’s qualification.

Deschamps Pays Tribute to Mbappé

But beyond his two goals, one scene particularly stood out. In the 85th minute, as Mbappé came off, Didier Deschamps bowed down to his captain. A symbolic, almost theatrical gesture to salute Mbappé’s exceptional performance.
