Doubts are already swirling around Real Madrid. Internally, Álvaro Arbeloa’s ability to bring the Merengues back to the top is said to be seriously questioned. And to succeed him, one name is coming up insistently: Unai Emery.

What if Real Madrid changed coaches yet again? After dismissing Alonso, Arbeloa is also under pressure. On the management side, they are already starting to think about a plan B (or even a plan C).

Unai Emery, the Possible Saviour

Florentino Pérez’s top priority is well known, but Jürgen Klopp has no intention of coming out of retirement. According to Marca journalist Ramón Álvarez, the Madrid president is now considering Unai Emery, a coach Mbappé knows well from their time together between 2015 and 2017.

The Aston Villa coach seems to be gaining ground in the somewhat uncertain minds of Real Madrid’s leaders, who are searching for a saviour. The former PSG manager is therefore seen as a potential providential figure.

One major obstacle remains: Aston Villa have no desire to let him go mid-season, especially given the current results. The Emery option would thus be considered for next summer—provided Arbeloa does not quickly turn things around and Real are not forced to act sooner than planned.
