The Manchester United supporter who took on a hair challenge as bold as it was risky may finally be able to shave off his mane. Frank Ilett made a bet that he would not cut his hair until his team managed to secure five wins in a row.
With another Manchester United victory, Frank Ilett might at last see the inside of a barber shop again. The club’s most well-known fan was starting to look more like a rockstar on a farewell tour than a regular at Old Trafford.
United Close to Ending the Fan’s Two-Year Hair Bet
But times are changing. Since Michael Carrick took charge, Manchester United have regained confidence, pace, and nearly a winning streak. Four consecutive victories are already in the bag, with a fifth step to climb this Tuesday night at 9:15 pm against West Ham.
Frank Ilett has not cut his hair for two years. If United win, it would be their first run of five straight victories since February 18, 2024 — an eternity for a club of this stature, and for a haircut as well. Bookmakers are watching the odds, supporters are watching the score, and Frank Ilett is probably watching his clippers.
