Jack Grealish’s season has come to an abrupt end. The English winger, on loan from Manchester City to Everton, will not play again before the end of the campaign after undergoing surgery on his left foot. It’s a major setback for the 30-year-old, who has already been sidelined for several weeks and now sees his international ambitions slip away.

Grealish will not wear the Everton shirt again this season. Suffering from a left foot injury, the England international underwent a surgical procedure to treat a stress fracture, confirming that his season is officially over. Already out since January 18, he never managed to regain his rhythm after this persistent injury.

On social media, Grealish personally confirmed the news, acknowledging that his season is finished and that a long recovery period lies ahead. The injury also ends his hopes of taking part in this summer’s World Cup, a target he was aiming for despite already fierce competition for places in the national team.
