The FC Barcelona has put up for auction the lockers from the legendary players’ dressing room, with Lionel Messi’s leading the way.
A Creative Fundraising Effort at Barça
In an effort to generate revenue, Barça has launched an auction of iconic items from the Camp Nou, in collaboration with Goldin, as part of the stadium’s renovation project.
Among the items available for bidding are the lockers of club legends such as Lionel Messi, Neymar, Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, and Diego Maradona.
Messi’s Locker Draws Unprecedented Interest
Unsurprisingly, the most sought-after item is Messi’s locker, which has already reached €352,000 in bids. To put this into perspective, Real Madrid only managed to sell Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema’s lockers for around €23,000 during a similar auction.
Additionally, Barça is auctioning other memorabilia from the old Camp Nou, including corner flags, pieces of the pitch, protective dugout glass, and historical photos of the club’s Champions League victories.
