Adrien Rabiot’s summer has been a tumultuous saga. After his violent altercation with Jonathan Rowe, the French midfielder was asked to pack his bags in Marseille. Out of OM, heading for the exit… before an unexpected rebound in the final hours of the transfer window: AC Milan.
Adrien Rabiot returns to Serie A, this time in Milan, after Juventus. But this return to Serie A came at a cost for Rabiot — literally. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the player, who earned over €5 million per year in Marseille, had to accept a lower salary to reunite with Massimiliano Allegri, his mentor from Juventus.
In Milan, he signed until 2028, with a significantly reduced salary. While rumors suggested he was earning more than the €5.5 million of Leao, the highest-paid player at Milan.
Inflated bonuses
This pay cut could, however, be partially offset by several bonuses: titles, personal performances, trophies… If Rabiot shines, his wallet will follow. In the meantime, the Frenchman has set aside his ego and salary to revive his career in Lombardy.
