The atmosphere at Olympique de Marseille is spiraling completely out of control. Already stuck in a massive sporting crisis after the heavy defeat against Nantes and the enforced training camp at La Commanderie, several Marseille players reportedly lost control on Thursday night.
According to reports from Foot Mercato and L’Équipe, some senior members of the squad allegedly turned their final night on site into a real “holiday camp.” Several hotel rooms were reportedly trashed, while multiple incidents seriously angered the club’s management.
Marseille Crisis Reaches Breaking Point
At the center of the chaotic evening was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabonese striker allegedly sprayed Bob Tahri, a member of the sporting management responsible for enforcing curfew rules at La Commanderie, with a fire extinguisher. His bed and several personal belongings were also reportedly targeted.
Faced with the seriousness of the incidents and the already explosive situation surrounding the club, OM reportedly decided to immediately remove Aubameyang from the professional squad. The former Arsenal striker is therefore not expected to travel to Le Havre this weekend.
This latest scandal further highlights the toxic climate currently surrounding Marseille, as the end of the season continues to turn into a complete nightmare for the French club.
