The Ousmane Dembélé situation is underway… but it is already explosive. On Canal+, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi confirmed that discussions have indeed started to extend the Parisian star’s contract, which runs until 2028. The problem: it is already at a standstill.
The PSG made an initial verbal offer, deemed consistent with the club’s new salary policy. But the Parisian president was very clear: there will be no exceptions.
Strict salary cap for everyone
“There is a salary cap at PSG, everyone knows it and everyone must respect it,” emphasized Nasser. The message is clear: even the Ballon d’Or and the highest-paid player in the squad is not above the rules.
The club before the stars
If Paris absolutely wants to keep its offensive leader, Al-Khelaïfi reminded everyone of a non-negotiable principle: “the club is more important than anyone.” While also flattering Dembélé, calling him a “club legend” and praising his human qualities.
“I love Ousmane as a player and as a person, he is a wonderful person,” he added. But between love… and money, there is often a gap. And for now, this gap could well slow down — or even derail — the negotiations.
