The dispute between Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappé reached its conclusion on Tuesday before the French labor court. The judges fully rejected the claims filed by the Paris-based club and ruled in favor of the former PSG striker.
In its decision, the court ordered PSG to pay the sums claimed by the player, amounting to €55 million, plus paid leave compensation. According to Mbappé’s lawyers, the total amount owed by the club is approximately €61 million. The ruling is subject to provisional enforcement, meaning PSG must pay immediately even if it decides to appeal.
A Landmark Ruling Against PSG
Beyond the financial penalty, the judges imposed an exceptional measure. PSG is required to publish the full court ruling for one month on the homepage of its official website, a sanction intended to give public visibility to the decision.
For the record, during the November hearing PSG had sought €440 million from its former player, while Mbappé’s camp claimed €263 million in unpaid sums. The labor court ultimately ruled in favor of the player, whose lawyers expressed their “very great satisfaction,” stating that the decision confirmed the legal strength of their case and the club’s responsibility in the dispute.
