Will Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang miss the entire AFCON? The 36-year-old Marseille striker has already been ruled out of the clash against Cameroon, scheduled for December 24.
Aubameyang’s injury status with Gabon
In a statement, the Gabonese Football Federation clarified the player’s medical situation: “The medical staff of Olympique de Marseille wished to handle the medical care in Marseille after consultation with the national team’s medical staff. The player is unavailable for the match on December 24 against Cameroon.”
A return later in the tournament is not ruled out. “Depending on clinical progress and imaging results, participation in the match on December 28 against Mozambique is possible,” the federation added. The Panthers will then conclude the group stage against Ivory Coast on December 31.
